You know you're a new parent when....

> The catchy tune you hum all day isn't from the Top 40 but is the music played by your child's favourite toy...

> The term "all nighter" has a whole new meaning...

> Going to the Supermarket is considered a day out...

> Your Facebook page may as well belong to your baby as every status update is about them...

> You think it is perfectly normal to conduct a full conversation with a toy giraffe...

> You wonder if you'll ever eat using two hands again...

> You have forgotten what coffee tastes like when it's hot...

> You find yourself speaking to EVERYONE in a baby voice...

> You no longer call your partner by their first name but instead, refer to them as "Mummy" or "Daddy"...

> You consider it a luxury to sleep more than three hours in a row...

> You do so much of your shopping online that you are now on first name terms with the postman...

> You no longer investigate the origins of unidentified wet patches on your clothing...

> You can't imagine life without your child.

Bonjour, Guten Tag, Hello

I'm going to start this blog with an introduction post...
Well where to begin? In May 2010 I became Mr T's lodger  (not THE Mr T, obviously...) and immediately fell head over heels for the poor chap, two months later we decided to start a family and by August 2010 I was pregnant...you couldn't make it up! We like to think of ourselves as a Social Experiment. So far it seems to be working out pretty well and we are thanking our lucky stars for the fact that neither of us has (yet) turned out to be an absolute nightmare, to put it politely. In fact, the decisions which hindsight tell us were very impulsive, have turned out to be the best we've ever made. And we now have our amazing and wonderful daughter to show for it all - a miniature person who has changed our lives forever and we have adored *almost* every second!
